MUSIC THERAPY REPRESENTATION At Iroon Square Elefsina Saturday 2 June 2018, at 20:30
Folklore Association of Elefsina "TO ADRAHTI" Association of Minorians of Elefsina Elefsina Symia Association "THE ARCHANGEL MICHAEL" In the framework of the FEAST OF 2018, the theme is "Events in Eleusin", organized by the Law of Public Administration. Π.Κ.Π.Π.Α.Α. Of the Municipality of Elefsina Cast: Sotiris Margonis (violin), Manolis Karpathios (cannon), Thodoris Georgopoulos (clarinet), Giorgos Pappas (lute) Three city clocks It is moments in our lives, that time stops its monotonous measure. Such are the moments of uprooting from the homeland. Such are the moments when a reception place will suddenly widen. One last look at our place before letting it. Loaded question marks and the handfuls with the little content. One last look at the city clock. The time he writes stays in memory engraved forever. Milestone is the time when the earth is torn and the home air blows. Smyrna - August 1922. In a basement of the port of Smyrna, we escaped tonight from the knife. Tomorrow they said, they will take us ships. For some place in Greece. What to expect? Who can expect us? Where will we consolidate? Will we go back one day? Tightly tucked in with all the property: an image, a few photographs, two clothes, a talisman. Our life passes like a movie. The house, our garden, our school, our church, friends, neighbors, alleys, go through. A break and the movie stopped. What awaits us in the second part? Symi - Early 20th Century. Symi is hungry and saddened again in the hands of the Ottomans. Disappeared world. The flight is made hope by the name: Free Greece. Night and escape from Symi. In short, the boat will take us. Symi do not cry, I will have you in my heart. The clock hit two. The caique was in the background. Our hearts jump with joy and sorrow. We will go to Greece. Elefsina is called the place, factories and harbor has, by the sea we know, we will need, we will not miss bread. Our strong hands will make a new life, our neighborhood and we will be united. At the same time, Elefsina is on hold. From an arbanian child becomes a mother and a nurse. It spreads her neighborhoods and sweetens tomorrow. The cameras do not stop, the chimneys scratch the sky, the birnels shake it, the harbor full of boats and workers. And its plain, this fertile plain that for centuries called for hands, will now be abundant. Hands that will know from earth, boys and girls to sing the bloom of the new century. Boys and girls wounded yesterday, born elsewhere to become brides and grooms. Bring hugs and customs, music and perfumes exotic from all over Greece.

"Pemptousia" on Monday, May 7, 2018, at 7:30 pm, at Pallas Theater in Athens, will present at the first official projection the film/documentary "In the footsteps of St. Paisios". A production of the "Saint Maximos the Graves" Institute and the Quintessa, with the kindly sponsorship of the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi. Saint Paisios was born in 1924 in the Farassa of Cappadocia. With the exchange of populations after the Asia Minor Catastrophe, his family moved to Corfu and finally to Konitsa, where he lived until 1949. He had a young desire to become a monk, especially after the experience of the appearance of Christ at the age of 15. In 1953 he departed for his loving Mount Athos to become a monk there. He slept on July 12, 1994 at the St. John the Theologian's Heavenly Court in Souroti. Although he was fond of himself, he showed a keen zeal for monastic life. He lived for more than 40 years in strict ascetic life, self-denial, prostitution, great fasting and daily vigil. It was the same sacrifice for each of his brothers. It became an utensil of election, with the manifestations of the therapies, the distinction, the prophecy. A number of pilgrims found resting near him when they visited him in his cell on Mount Athos or in the Monastery of Souroti. Hundreds of books have been written about his life, his teachings, his miracles. He was assigned to the Orthodox Church's Saintship on January 13, 2015. He is one of the last Holy Mount Athos with whom the Mount Athos is magnified, the Church of Christ is glorified. It has become known throughout the Orthodox world and beyond. His life is described in that film / documentary, along with testimonies of surnames. The central speech of the event will be by Elder Efraim, the Dean of the IM. Monastery of Vatopedi. At the event, the Greek Byzantine Choir with George N. Konstantinou will perform hymns from the St. Paisios of the Mount Athos. While Gregory Daravanoglu, will perform songs from Cappadocia, the birthplace of Saint Paisios. Orchestra: Manolis Karpathios
