Syggnomi Poli Mou - The album "Sorry My City" is a cycle of new songs with a core in Istanbul and the Bosphorus, released by Ogdoo Music Group with the great Manolis Mitsias. An artist who with his attitude, choices and interpretations honored and honors the greek music, with deep knowledge of chanting and Byzantine musical streets. The music of the play is signed by the composer, teacher and playwright Manolis Karpathios. He studied cannon in Istanbul, next to Khalil Karadouman. He is the founder of the 35-member "Romana" orchestra, which aims to present and record works by Roman composers who worked in Constantinople from the years of the Eastern Roman Empire until today. At the same time, he is the director of studies at the School of Byzantine and Traditional Music "Tettix". Creator with rich ethnography and close ties with the people of Constantinople. The texts are performed by the renowned actor and composer Ieroklis Michailidis. Grigoris Daravanoglou, Protopsaltis and Choreographer of international fame with many distinctions, is a key figure in the work, a native of the city. He lived the atmosphere of the meihandes, the restaurants of high cultural offer where the fasil was sung, that is, lots of songs on the Byzantine sounds and the Arab-Persian macams. At the same time, a seven-year-old child in the Patriarchal church was listening to the music of the Roman musicians. All his experiences refer to Galata, Fanari, Peran, Tharapeia in the neighborhoods of Romioi where the Greeks coexisted peacefully with the other ethnicities. Finally, the special singer Marina Manolakou participates as a performer. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew welcomes this creative effort with a letter-text contained autonomously in his cd insert.
